The FNB Branded Cellphones, include the ‘ConeXis X1’ which costs R150 per month over a two year period. FNB’s Gold and Premium customers have access to the higher specification X1 with 25 minutes and 100MB of data included.

Meanwhile, FNB’s ‘ConeXis A1’ is priced at R59 over a 24 month period. The A1 further comes bundled with 15 minutes airtime and 50MB of data included.

FNB said the phones,  provide free banking services while they are designed by Chinese phone maker ZTE.

FNB’s move to launch its own smartphone brand comes after the company unveiled its own branded mobile network last year.

FNB Connect runs atop Cell C’s network as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO).

For R399 per month FNB are offering unlimited calls to any network as part of the smartphone launch, said the company on Tuesday.

The unlimited calls offer, which is available from August 24, can be taken up together with the FNB ConeXis smartphone deal or any other branded mobile phone, said the bank.
